Dancing with AI... Rewilding humans…
ART⋂CODE is a journey into how machines are shaping how we think, as revealed by creating art from code.
What parts of being human get left behind when we interact with technology?
I’m Tim Murray-Browne, computational artist, critical engineer and researcher.
I’m currently lost building systems to control generative AI purely through empty-minded movement of my body. I’m translating the movement of a dancer into live sound in ways that doesn’t make them think. I’m generating meditative visual landscapes that look uncannily real and yet unlike anything from this universe.
I’m slightly fixated on embodied cognition: that big part of our intellect which is felt rather than reasoned with.
In ART⋂CODE, I share a regular snapshot into my practice. Sometimes this is a new artwork, sometimes an article reflecting on our relationship with machines.
Most of all, it’s a journey into how machines are shaping us: how we think, who we think we are.
Everything I write about is rooted in making stuff, and I only want to write when I’ve got something to say. So ART⋂CODE shifts between weekly/fortnightly/monthly (at least monthly) depending on where I’m at in my creative cycle.
